To an end and a beginning...

Third and final trimester!

In a blink of an eye, I'm now 30+2weeks into my pregnancy, in my third and final trimester. The added weight to my previously petite body is seriously taking its toll on me (I'm almost 20kg heavier than I was pre pregnancy!) So long 2nd trimester, you've been really good while it lasted. Now the 3rd trimester is giving me more problems.

Although I've gained almost 20kg, a lot of people actually said that my belly is small for the number of weeks I'm at now. I think all that fats went to my chin lol

Backaches, heartburn, restless legs syndrome, leg cramps, Braxton Hicks contractions, swelling, headache, nausea.... you name it, I got it. And the little one's super active (he can go on the entire day and night) and violent trashing around is not making it any better. It really feels like it's bruised on the inside when he punches/kicks/elbows/knees a certain part of my tummy. Painful and uncomfortable. Even my husband was amazed and scared by how strong and active he is.

Sometimes I get it so bad that I feel like delivering him now by inducing labour or even have a c-section so I don't have to bear with all the discomforts. But nope, I need to wait for him to be fully baked in the oven. I want him to be at his best of health and ready for the outside world when he is out. Furthermore, I want a normal delivery. A drug-free one too if possible. I'm actually considering water birth at NUH. Just an extra top up of $321 for the water birth facilities, cheaper than the epidural injection at $428.

Why my hospital don't offer water birth? :(

I'm just a few weeks away from labour and I'm actually excited and scared at the same time. Thinking of finally seeing my little one has got me overwhelmed with excitement but thinking of the labour pain makes me extremely scared. I need to learn self hypnotizing. I already told myself that throughout the whole process, I am going to close my eyes and just imagine myself carrying the little one in a vast field of sunflowers, looking and smiling at him. Tell me it'd work please?

And I've heard how midwives/doctors/anesthetists will psycho you into getting an epidural injection so I will say "no" to whatever questions asked too, even if there is no link to what they're asking I'm just going to focus on my imagination in my head and say "no" the whole time. Sounds like a plan.

Oh yes, forgot to mention that my husband is bent on not having Kaizer as our little one's name! All this name decision thing is killing my brain cells. Here is a shortlist of a few other names I reluctantly continued researching on:

1. Daelan (day-lern)
According to She Knows, the name Daelan is an English baby name. In English, the meaning of the name Daelan is: Rhyming- a historical blacksmith with supernatural powers.

On there, it also says that people with this name have a deep inner need for quiet, and a desire to understand and analyze the world they live in, and to learn the deeper truths.
And that they tend to initiate events, to be leaders rather than followers, with powerful personalities.

They tend to be focused on specific goals, experience a wealth of creative new ideas, and have the ability to implement these ideas with efficiency and determination. They tend to be courageous and sometimes aggressive. As unique, creative individuals, they tend to resent authority, and are sometimes stubborn, proud, and impatient.

2. Kaidan (kai-dern)
Because my husband says it has Kai from Kaizer and Dan from his name, Daniel. -_-
It means "companion". There was no further elaboration on this name.

3. Hansel (hun-sel or hen-sel)

randomly suggested by my brother and my dad and husband thinks it's quite a nice name.

According to She Knows, the name Hansel is a Swedish baby name. In Swedish, the meaning of the name Hansel is: gift from God.

People with this name have a deep inner desire for a stable, loving family or community, and a need to work with others and to be appreciated.

People with this name are excited by change, adventure, and excitement. They are dynamic, visionary and versatile, able to make constructive use of freedom. They fight being restricted by rules and conventions. They tend to be optimistic, energetic, intelligent, and to make friends easily. They may be changeable, restless, untidy, and rebellious.

I want his middle name to be Dan so it'll be Daelan Dan Naghibi and Hansel Dan Naghibi if it's either one of these names chosen. I'm starting to like Hansel. What do you readers think?

xxx R.
